Interesting finding these posts on the Internet. Hooray for Google.

I was recruited by Viva a few months back for what I thought was a legit contract. They put me through the paces in vetting me, as well as working out a contract for my PR services.

That, along with the in-depth training they required of everyone for using their Intervals system, made me feel that this was on the up and up.

Our weekly Operations calls, the org charts etc all seemed the picture of a legitimate company.

Then the warning signs started making my Spidey-sense tingle:

1. My point of contact had a gmail email, not a company one. Why?

2. I heard rumblings that no one had been paid as of yet. Thankfully my contract and my business practice is to take payment upfront from clients, always. I feel bad for the others who have monies owed.

3. Abruptly, our weekly calls disappeared. My point of contact disappeared. I called him, and he gave a reason of a death in the family. Two weeks later, I called again wanting to know what was going on. He told me he was no longer with Viva and that many had not been paid.

4. Payments@gimmeviva.com never ever respond to my inquiries.

5. After reading all the sales collateral on Viva, I still couldn’t for the life of me figure out what they did or what their products do. It sounded like gobblygook, and I write content and copy for a living.

6. They changed eLance profiles.

7. I received a call from a company who demanded that I pass on to Viva that they immediately cease using their firm’s name in relations to their marketing.

8. No corporate web site.

9. Addresses are all rent-an-address offices.

Recently I also was told to provide my bank account info as a wire transfer would be imminent. Still waiting on that.

I was also told to revise my agreement and change the start date. That has passed now by 9 days and not a peep.

One of the greatest pet peeves in my life are crooks who try and take advantage of decent, hardworking individuals. If Viva is a scam, and it’s not looking good for them, count me in on providing whatever testimony you need. Whether it be a class action or other form of legal action, I can provide proof of them signing a statement of work with me which has been breached.

I am not afraid of being bullied around for I have truth and God on my side.

If Viva is truly crooked, let’s take the bull by the horns.
